IGNITE: Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

Welcome to IGNITE, the premier summer youth leadership conference hosted by the Georgia Center for Civic Engagement! This immersive, multi-day experience is designed to empower middle and high school students to ignite their passion for civic leadership, gain essential skills, and set themselves—and their ENGAGE chapters—up for a successful school year.

Why IGNITE?
IGNITE is more than just a conference; it’s a launchpad for young leaders who are eager to make a difference in their communities. Through dynamic workshops, interactive activities, and inspirational talks, participants focus on personal leadership development and acquire the tools to lead their ENGAGE chapters with confidence and vision. Students learn how to turn ideas into action, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change—all while forming connections with peers from across Georgia who share a commitment to civic engagement.

What You’ll Experience

  • Leadership Workshops: Develop core leadership competencies, including strategic thinking, team building, and effective communication, with guidance from experienced civic leaders.
  • Chapter Planning Sessions: Prepare your ENGAGE chapter for the upcoming school year, creating a roadmap for successful initiatives, events, and member engagement.
  • Inspiring Speakers: Hear from guest speakers who are leaders in civic engagement, public service, and community advocacy, and learn from their insights and experiences.
  • Team-Building Activities: Strengthen bonds with fellow participants through fun, collaborative activities that challenge you to think creatively and work together toward common goals.

Who Should Attend?
IGNITE is ideal for middle and high school students involved in or interested in establishing an ENGAGE chapter, as well as students who are eager to develop their leadership abilities and take an active role in their communities. Whether you’re a seasoned chapter leader or a newcomer to civic engagement, IGNITE offers valuable experiences and learning opportunities for everyone.

Get Ready to Ignite Your Passion for Change
Join us at IGNITE to unlock your potential, inspire your peers, and lay the groundwork for a thriving ENGAGE chapter in the coming school year. Together, we’ll build a network of young leaders who are equipped and motivated to make a difference in Georgia and beyond.
